Dryer Gallery
The old dryer building next to the Statuary park was turned into a gallery space in the year 2002.
Alpo Jaakola had some plans to use the dryer, but the actual idea of Dryer Gallery was born in the year 2000. That’s when architect Seppo Pärnä, who led the reparation project in the Statuary park, “found” the building and made a plan to turn it into a gallery space.
The last push for the Dryer Gallery to be born was came from sculptor Sakari Peltola, who got exited for the space and joined the construction. With the help of many people and gifted materials, the Dryer was opened to audit in the early summer of 2002. The first artist to build an exhibition in the dryer was justly Sakari Peltola.
The Dryer Gallery is open with the same opening hours and entry fee as Alpo Jaakola Statuary Park. The Gallery showcases art from different visiting artists each summer.
